As you come up the access road to the crater this is the tunnel to get inside. This photo was taken from a parking/viewpoint area. Parking at this spot is limited to 30 minutes so you can not leave your car here and walk in to save money. There's a canvas covered chain link fence enclosure extending out from the entrance to the tunnel. That's to catch and deflect rocks that come off the hillside. If you're walking in please stay on the left, there's slightly more room on that side. Walking out you want to stay on the right. The lanes are narrow and drivers have trouble seeing as they enter the tunnel, so be alert. Drivers, please turn your lights on in the tunnel!
