Another shot of the winch motor and some of the platform. The two columns holding the platform up are what was visible from the parking lot. Much of the material used in the construction of the trail and Fire Control Station came up on this winch using a suspended line. Then it was carried from here to where it was used. Mules were for a lot of the hauling, but a lot of it was done on soldier's backs. They might have used this to bring up supplies too once the Station was finished. But it still meant a lot of carrying.
