This March 6, 1938 photo is identified as a 12 inch mortar firing in Pit B [East side of the Battery] at Battery Harlow. It is most likely not Battery Harlow though because the wall profile doesn't look right and by 1938 there were few if any firings from the Batteries at Diamond Head due to development around the crater. The concussion from test firings caused damage to nearby buildings and windows. Photo courtesy of the US Army Museum of Hawaii.
